PATHOGEN SCREENED

Every month, we send out samples from each mother plant for pathogen screening to our trusted 3rd party lab partners.  Mid-Month alternate screening is also performed on half of the mothers to stay ahead of any potential challenges. If there is any threats, those mothers and batched clones are immediatly culled.

Our Vision

If you’ve been following our #originstory you will understand that CLTVTD Genetics is here to bring a trusted experience in the nursery segment.  By collaborating with Node Labs, we are able to start our mothers from Tissue Culture which allows us to propagate healthy first-generation clones. We are doing what we can control to provide a trusted experience from the initial start of the supply chain.

Our Mission

With today’s lack of regulations in the nursery space, there are no requirements to provide lab results for any of the BCC tests that every other stage of the supply chain has to comply with. We are here to set the standard by operating as if we were required to regularly test our plants with a customer-centric approach. Our alliances with trusted licensed labs who are focused on the plant pathology side of what our industry is quickly calling attention to, such as Hop Latent Viroid (HpLVd) and other harmful pathogens that can be demonstrated to infect cannabis and cause issues to your crop such as Fusarium, Pythium, Powdery Mildew, BCT, LCV, etc.

We are creating awareness around these topics by using #WHOSYOURMOMMY

Why wait until you have a pest problem to do anything?

CLONE CARE

WHAT YOU NEED

Trust, but verify...

There is always a chance of pathogenic & pest vectors between transportation and distribution channels, including having so many people being in the dispensary. We work with our dispensary partners though not to overload them so that stock moves fast to ensure that clones can go from our nursery to personal farms as fast as possible to hopefully close that vector. Like any professional cultivation operation, a home grower should consider an intake process to ensure their new plants are treated before placing them into their gardens. Trust, but verify with a quarantine period is essential to any cultivator.  Using a microscope or jewelers loop to thoroughly inspect plants for pests or powdery mildew during a 24-hour quarantine will allow you to treat & verify that the plants are ready to introduce into your garden. Home growers who have adopted these protocols or developed their own have been successful for years.  We are here to help you develop these protocols. Pathogens can be introduced through so many vectors, including humans and environments.

Tips for a healthy garden

  • Cleanliness is crucial. Be sure to change your clothes if you are around outside gardens before tending to your plants (indoors) and ensure to wash your hands thoroughly (COVID protocol) between each plant to reduce the chance of transferring anything from one plant to the next.
  • Treat each plant as it is infected. When you defoliate leaves from the plant, it excretes sap that can infect your plants through your hands/pruning shears/instruments. This is referred to as mechanical transfer, which is how cross-contamination occurs.
  • Sanitation practices are important. Please be sure to properly sanitize between plants & each harvest.

We have a strong commitment to our community of growers. #CleanBehaviors are essential for healthy cultivation.

  • RO (reverse osmosis) Water
  • Nutrients (nutrient of choice based upon your desired preference)
  • Grow Medium (Rockwool cube, coco/soil mix, etc.)
  • PPM & PH Meter (we use Blue Lab Combo Meter)
  • Clean Shears (single-shear mentality) to ensure you don’t cross-contaminate your plants.
  • Disinfecting Agents (Physan 20 works great!)

How much nutrients should I feed my clone?

PPM Range: 500-600

PH Range: 5.8-6.1

GROWING TIPS

THINGS TO BE MINDFUL ABOUT WHEN VEGGING YOUR CLONE

  • Using Reverse Osmosis Water (RO) is crucial to the development of your clone. Osmosis water is nearly pure water with a PH of 7. Reverse osmosis is a filtration method that removes more than 99% of all the contaminants in water.
  • Proper Nutrient Mixture ~ ensure you follow directions on how to mix your nutrient of choice. You want to avoid the “lock-out” which means the plant will not properly uptake the nutrients.
  • Lighting Cycle ~ proper vegging time requires at least 18 hours of light on, with 6 hours of lights off. If you don’t give your plant enough time to stretch with the lights on, you run into pre-flower, which stunts the growth and yield. For further information, search “cannabis light cycles before flipping to flower.
